chickfila logo
DON'T FORGET!!

Chick-fil-A restaurants are offering a FREE meal to their customers on July 10th, when you dress up as a cow.  This is in honor of cow appreciation day.  They even allow you to print off your own cow started kit, cow ears, nose, spots, tail and a sign that reads “eat mor chikin”   Click here for your starter kit and for more details.

This is us last year. I am embarrassed to say we ate 3 meals at Chik-fil-A that day. The kids had a blast though!

Safeway or Randalls: Free Starbucks ice cream

IMG_1551At Walmart they have the StarBucks Ice Cream for $2.58 for the one pint size.  If you use the $2.00 coupon from the 6/21 smart source you can get it for .58 cents.  If you do not like coffee they do have a hot chocolate flavor as well.

Safeway/Randalls has the individual-sized Starbucks ice cream cups on sale for $1 each this week. Use the $1/1 coupon from the 6/21 SmartSource insert to score free ice cream.

If you don't have a Safeway store, you might check your local stores to see if they also carry the individual cups of ice cream. I'm guessing they would be priced at $1.50 or less making for a pretty sweet deal after this coupon. Thanks, Coupon Clippin' Mama!

Speaking of Starbucks ice cream, you gotten your free pint yet?

Also, you can get a $1/1 coupon here (good only on the pint-sized ice cream) or here. I couldn't get the last link to print on my computer. If you can get it to print, let us know if it is good on any size of Starbucks ice cream or only on the pints.

CVS shopping trip pile for $22.00 COOL!

I finally had a big trip this week at CVS. I have been busy and had to take a little CVS break or I get burnt out! I made a HUGE $10 mistake in the way I checked out.... rookie mistake! I should have only spent $12 out of pocket for all this but instead had to pay $22. Oh well, still a great deal considering I had 11 $10 razors, plus everything else.
Earlier last week I posted about the cereal deal HERE
Razors are Buy one get one free so I used 1 $4 off coupon for each one making them all .99 cents a razor!
Make-up is being clearanced at my store so I loaded up on 50% and 75% off, combined with coupons made them almost free.
The rest of everything were ECB deals.

* My rookie mistake was buying the frebreeze and the makeup in the same transaction. Because the makeup didn't give me any ECB's back I should have split that into 2 different transactions, buying the frebreeze first and using the ECB's from that to pay for the makeup. I was in a hurry and had already done 4 transactions, so I wasn't thinking!

Don't forget to start watching for sales on school supplies. Last year I scored 4 kids school supplies for under $20 by starting now.

Also, if you are planning on coming to the coupon class this weekend, it's free, shoot me an email so I can get a good count and have all the handouts and door prizes ready!

McDonald's: Free Iced Mocha or Hot Mocha on Mondays

Students.Par.92689.Image.-1.0.1.gif

McDonald's is advertising here that they are giving away a free Iced Mocha (7 oz.) or Hot Mocha (8 oz.) every Monday from July 13, 2009 through August 3, 2009 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m at participating locations.

From everything I could gather on the website, this should be a nationwide promotion. However, McDonald's stores are notorious for not knowing about promotions even if it's advertised as a nationwide thing. So, I would strongly encourage you to contact your local McDonald's stores to see if they are participating before making a special trip for free mocha.

The stores in my area are all doing this promotion and have signs up!

Thanks, Suzanne and Susan for reminding me!

Also, if you live in Indiana or Illinois, you can go here to get a free coupon for a mocha or coffee at McCafe. (Thanks, Katherine!)

What to do with .99 cent a lb strawberries? Freezer Jam!

It wasn't until I was in college that I tried freezer jam. Can you believe I had lived my entire life until then without any? Crazy. So I would like to take a minute to thank my roommates, it was either Cami, or Chelsea who brought some from home and changed my bagel eating life. This was my staple meal while in school, a plain toasted bagel, with slightly melted plain cream cheese and piled with strawberry freezer jam.

It doesn't get any better than this....
Paul took the bigger kids to the Astro's game, I had the little kids and 10 pounds of strawberries that I found for .99 cents a pound.

Hmmmm, what to do with my night??

Park the little kids at the table with coloring books and get busy!
This is the easiest yummiest most satisfying thing that you can preserve. Take the tops off your strawberries. Toss them into your food processor or a large bowl. Pulse them slowly until they are in small chunks, or mash with a potato masher until smashed.
Don't over smash them or esp. in the food processor, don't kill them! Just small pieces will work!
For every 2 pounds of strawberries mashed, I used 1 1/2 cups sugar and one packet freezer jam fruit pectin.
I got all the supplies from Wal-mart. I love the nifty little freezer jars they had. Are these new? I have not seen them before and thought they were really cool. I had to try them out and was in LOVE!
This is super quick to make, abut 40 minutes and 9 pounds of strawberries later I had this stash to throw into the freezer. Enough to last us for the next few weeks.... just kidding the  next month or so :) It last up to a year in the freezer or a month or so in the fridge.

If you have not had freezer jam on a bagel with cream cheese, do yourself a favor and make some this summer!
How do you use a large amount of fruit in the summer? Do you can? Make freezer jam? Share some good recipes or a link to your site if you have canned or put up something!

New giveaway! Fine silver custom necklace and swap pictures!

I had to pry the bag from Storie's  little fingers this morning to take a picture, she had slept with it. Shelly really put so much detail into everything. The felt letters on the bag are all perfectly stitched on, the felt letters all have stamps and addresses. They are really nicely done and perfect for little hands to play with. You can check out Shelly's designs HERE.

This is the necklace that I made for Shelly, I think it turned out darling. A larger patterned disk is the backdrop for two smaller disks with her girls names on them. It is perfect to wear everyday, not too big and not too small. I normally antique my pieces quite a bit as I like the old look, but my sister convinced me to only do the disks on this one and I love how it looks. Besides, it will naturally tarnish a  bit over time.
